Subsidies in Prague

Subsidies for air conditioning in Prague: the Prague programme also applies retrospectively.

Prague has its own subsidy programme in addition to national ones. For an air-to-air heat pump, that is air conditioning with a heating function, it provides up to 60 000 Kč, and also recognises installations commissioned from August 2025.

Residents of Prague have one additional advantage compared to the rest of the country: the Čistá energie Praha 2026-2027 (Clean Energy Prague) programme, which runs concurrently with the nationwide Nová zelená úsporám (New Green Savings). It is not tied to household income, meaning a significantly wider group of people can access it than those eligible for NZÚ Light.

A crucial detail often overlooked: the programme also recognises projects commissioned from 1 August 2025. If you had an air conditioner with heating function installed last autumn and possess the necessary documentation, it makes sense to submit an application now.

When a subsidy applies to air conditioning, and when it does not

There is no subsidy for air conditioning intended solely for cooling. Subsidies are available for air-to-air heat pumps, that is, air conditioning units with a heating function used for space heating.

The installation must be carried out by a company authorised to handle regulated substances (F-gas) in accordance with Act No. 73/2012 Coll.; otherwise, the subsidy will not be granted even if all other conditions are met.

What to watch out for in Prague

Subsidies are paid only after implementation and must not exceed 50% of the documented eligible costs. For standard installation in an apartment or a detached house, this means that the ceiling of 60,000 Kč is reached only with installations costing 120,000 Kč or more, for smaller projects you will receive half of their price.

The application involves two steps: electronic registration at granty.praha.eu and submission of the printed form with attachments within ten working days. Failure to complete the second step results in the registration becoming void. Housing cooperatives and SVJ (the building's owners' association) have a ceiling of 400 000 Kč for an air-to-air heat pump serving the entire building.

What we supply for your application

Frequently asked questions about subsidies

We installed an air conditioner last year. Can we still apply?

If it was commissioned on 1 August 2025 or later and you have documentation of the implementation, the Čistá energie Praha (Clean Energy Prague) programme recognises it. Applications are accepted until 31 August 2027.

Can we apply as a building owners' association (SVJ) for the entire building?

Yes, housing cooperatives and owners' associations (SVJ) with their registered office in the Czech Republic are eligible applicants. For a heat pump in an apartment building, the cap is 400 000 Kč, and here too the limit of 50 % of eligible costs applies.

Can I get a subsidy for an air conditioner that only cools?

No. There is no subsidy for air conditioning intended solely for cooling. Subsidies are available for air-to-air heat pumps, that is, air conditioning units with a heating function used for space heating. If you are buying a unit purely for summer cooling, it falls outside the subsidy programmes.

Does the installation have to be done by an F-gas certified company?

The installation must be carried out by a company authorised to handle regulated substances (F-gas) in accordance with Act No. 73/2012 Coll.; otherwise, the subsidy will not be granted even if all other conditions are met.

Do you guarantee that I will get the subsidy?

The decision to award the subsidy is made solely by the programme provider. We do not guarantee its receipt; we assist with technical documentation and proof of installation.

We last verified the figures on this page on 6 August 2026 against the official sources (Čistá energie Praha, NZÚ Light, NZÚ úvěr). Subsidy conditions change during the year, if you spot a discrepancy, let us know and we will correct it.

We will prepare the supporting documents for your application.

We will install the unit with all documentation required by the Prague programme, F-gas authorisation, technical parameters and proof of implementation. Contact us to discuss whether you are eligible for the subsidy.
